School Cafeteria Ordering

SCHOODA

Move cafeteria ordering and payment
onto students' phones.

SCHOODA is a pre-ordering and cashless payment service for school cafeterias, built and operated by us. Students order and pay ahead, and the counter only hands food over against a QR code. Cafeteria staff get a kitchen queue and a closing screen; administrators get menu, stock and sales management. It is live in a high school cafeteria.

Who it is for

  • Orders pile into the lunch break, and the counter gets stuck taking orders and handling money
  • Someone counts, reconciles and carries cash every day
  • Demand is invisible until the day itself, so food either runs out or is thrown away
  • Staff explain what is in each dish to students with allergies, one by one
  • Sales are totalled by hand to settle with the cafeteria operator

In use

It is live in a high school cafeteria, our first school. We handled the design, the conversations with the school and payment providers, and the build, and the same team maintains it after launch.

When pickup confirmation was slowing the counter, we moved the confirm button to the student’s screen and rewrote the student guide to match. A system that adds work for the people using it does not stick, so we keep adjusting the screens as it runs.

How we start

01

Conversation

We learn how the cafeteria runs: opening hours, menu size, where food is picked up, and who operates it.

02

School setup

We set up the school's URL, branding, menus and opening hours, and prepare payments.

03

Go live

Student and staff manuals are prepared, and use starts in step with how the counter works.

04

Operate and improve

We maintain it after launch. When something slows the counter, we fix the screen and the guide together.

Pricing

Quoted per school

Pricing depends on the size of the school and how the cafeteria runs, so we quote per school. Consultation and quotes are free.

Related Services

SCHOODA (School Cafeteria Pre-ordering)

Which payment methods are supported?

PayPay and credit cards. Card numbers are never received by our servers; students enter them on the payment provider's hosted page.

Do students need to install an app?

No. It is a web app used in the phone's browser, so nothing has to be installed from an app store.

How does it handle allergies?

Each menu item shows its allergens. When students register their allergies, matching items are flagged and can be hidden from the list. The allergen information is entered by the cafeteria when it registers each item.

Can orders be cancelled?

Within 30 seconds of payment, students can cancel on the spot. After that, they submit a cancellation request, which cafeteria staff approve or reject. On approval, the refund and stock adjustment happen automatically.

How are sales settled with the cafeteria operator?

Each month, a transfer statement with payment fees deducted is generated automatically, so nobody has to total the figures by hand.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the size of the school and how the cafeteria runs, so we quote per school. Please get in touch through the contact form.

You can talk to us before requirements are finished.

We can start by sorting what to do first. We run businesses ourselves, so the conversation stays about labor and ops. Consultation and estimates are free.
